I’ve been working on a new visual novel project for the past 2 hours, entitled “The Thing With Mistletoe”. To be honest, it first started out as a cute Christmas fluff, but… I soon found out that I am incapable of creating a “short” visual novel “fluff”. *sigh* I guess I’ll leave that job in my fanfictions. But visual novels? I just can’t make a super short one. Haha.
Nevertheless, this will be a short VN, around 20k-30k words I suppose. At first, it was gonna be a fluff story, hence the working title. But I decided to add some mystery elements to it, like in Seasons of Love, but I figured it would be harder to do here since I’ve got such limited time and resources as well.
I plan to finish this in around 3 days’ time, in time for Christmas. However, with the added mystery genre, I’m not sure if I’d be able to pull that off.
Here are my current statistics so far:
The game contains 199 dialogue blocks, containing 1,230 words and 6,617
characters, for an average of 6.2 words and 33 characters per block.
The game contains 0 menus, 0 images, and 12 screens.
As you can see, no images, and no menus yet. I’ve got no images since I can’t even find any appropriate placeholders, but I’m way too shy to ask for free artists. 😦 For this project I mean. Heck, I don’t think I even deserve any free artists. Loooool. I don’t know what to do.
Still, I hope for the best for this project. Hahaha. 🙂 Wish me luck.
